Using artificial intelligence (AI) software and the compute power of the cloud, generative design enables engineers to create thousands of design options by simply defining their design problem - inputting basic parameters such as height, weight it must support, strength, and material options. As with any new technology, however, there’s often some confusion and lack of clarity around what exactly the technology is, and what it isn’t.

Join us as we walk through how generative design technology works and fits in the manufacturing design process.
We’ll cover a brief demo of Fusion Generative as well as highlight next steps for diving in deeper to learn the tools

Learning outcomes:
At the end of this presentation, you should
• Know how Fusion Generative helps with the product development process.
• Know what the workflow looks like from CAD to outcome(s).
• Be familiar with the general steps required and capabilities of the interface.
• Know what your next steps should be to learn more about Fusion Generative.

Very often we deal with small variations of designs: slightly different size, or shape, material. As a result, a lot of work invested in routine of creating alike models, instead of true engineering or innovation. Once models are ready, even more time and energy is spent on creating alike drawings and annotating them. What if the entire workflow could be automated? Good news is that there is a solution.

Join part 4 of our design automation series to learn about:
• Capabilities of Drawing Automation
• Drawing Automation structure and architecture

Generative Design is changing the way we design, engineer, and manufacture the products of tomorrow. By leveraging cloud technology - 100’s or 1000’s of higher performing design options can be generated based on objectives, allowing users to make trade-offs for different materials, performance, and production options.

The benefits of Generative Design are also not restricted to just the world of Additive Manufacturing, but can also be leveraged with Subtractive Manufacturing, and even as design inspiration for traditional techniques. Industrial equipment manufacturers like Claudius Peters leverage the technology to essentially “take the opinion out of early stage design”, allowing their designers and engineers to create higher performing products, faster – with traditional manufacturing technology.

What you might not be aware of, is that Generative Design technology is now available to any user of the Manufacturing collections. This allows you to seamlessly go from your CAD workflows within Inventor, to generating a design in Fusion 360, back to having the generated design into the context of your original assembly with Inventor.
